There are few directors who are as unique as Wes Anderson and the first trailer for his new film The Grand Budapest Hotel seems to be right where he likes it: weird. And, as usual, Anderson gets a stellar cast on board, with a lot of familiar faces that have been used in multiple Anderson films. I’ll run down the list: Ralph Fiennes, Edward Norton, Willem Dafoe, Jude Law, Owen Wilson, Bill Murray, Adrian Brody, Tilda Swinton, Jeff Goldblum . . . yes, there are more . . . I’ll continue . . . Jason Schwartzman, F. Murray Abraham, Tom Wilkinson, and Harvey Keitel. To say that cast isn’t incredible would be underselling it.
The Grand Budapest Hotel feels like a Wes Anderson film and that is an indelible trait to posses as a director. I, for one, am excited to see how quirky and satirical Anderson makes his new film.
The Grand Budapest Hotel hits theaters March 7, 2014.
