Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen are such a formidable comedy duo. From Superbad to This is the End – let’s forget about The Green Hornet, okay? – they have proven they can be funny in a variety of ways, but with keeping their base of raunchiness intact. Now comes The Interview, a movie that even has the actual Kim Jong Un astir and forced Sony to alter some of the film. That move shows how Sony is more invested in this film making money than having it be creatively full, since I know Rogen and Goldberg wouldn’t pull any punches. But hey, it’s Hollywood.
And hello Ms. Johnson, I mean Lizzy Caplan. In a reunion of sorts, Caplan and Rogen are brought together for the first time since, well, The League. Okay, that was actually last episode, but the two have a history of starting out on Judd Apatow’s Freaks and Geeks, which is a must watch for anyone likes to laugh and I am excited to see Caplan pull her breakout acting weight in what should be a humorous program.
Originally scheduled for an October release, The Interview will bring added joy on Christmas Day, 2014.
