He’s back! And punching people really hard, perhaps even harder than he’s ever punched! Unless these guys have something to say about it. Now, I know this trailer played to its spot and by spot I of course mean a Super Bowl crowd, so it is filled with violence and cars slamming into each other, but the Bourne movies have always been more brain than brawn and I am sure this film will prove to be just that.
I am just excited to have this character and story back in my life. The Bourne series began nearly 15 years ago and put Damon on the map. Now, they are bringing him back after an okay Bourne Legacy which starred Jeremy Renner, since Damon only said he would do another Bourne if Paul Greengrass was at the helm again. The stars have aligned.
“Why would he come back now?” a confused Tommy Lee Jones asks, which the trailer then cleverly cuts to Bourne who says, in a stern fashion, “I know who I am. I remember everything.”
However, Julia Stiles’s Nicky smartly replies, “remembering everything doesn’t mean you know everything.” The whole idea of Bourne was a man searching for who he was, so, ultimately, I don’t think he can know everything. His search must continue, and will, this summer.
I can’t wait to see what non-threatening item he uses to beat up some bad guy. I’d like to see him use a shoe.
